Jacklyn E. Bruce is the Senior Associate for Marketing and Public Relations.  She brings a wealth of diverse experiences in marketing, public relations, media, communications and entertainment to the RestoreHope Consulting group.

Jacklyn earned her undergraduate degree in Politics from Princeton University, and was the recipient of The Caroline M. Picard ’86 Prize in Politics, the Ruth J. Simmons Senior Thesis Prize and a Spirit of Princeton Award.  While enrolled at Princeton, she was also a student of Isabel Wilkerson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist at The New York Times

Jacklyn’s initial foray into media and communications began in high school when she was accepted into the Urban Journalism Workshop sponsored by The Richmond Times Dispatch Newspaper.  Although a gifted writer, she had aspirations of working more broadly within media organizations and would hone her skills over the next decade by pursuing internships and professional opportunities at some of the nation’s leading media entities.

She completed a media planning and public relations internship at The Martin Agency, a leading advertising firm based in her hometown, Richmond, Virginia.  That experience led her to pursue additional internships in the industry, and she eventually landed a coveted publishing fellowship through The Magazine Publishers of America working at Meredith Corporation, and yet another the following year through the International Radio & Television Society working at the ABC Television Network in the Broadcast Standards and Practices Department.  Both internships were based in New York City.

Upon graduation, Ms. Bruce moved to New York where she was awarded a TIPTOP (Time Inc. Production Training Opportunities) Fellowship at Time, Inc., the nation’s largest magazine publisher.  Based on her previous experiences, she landed a plum opportunity working as a Production Associate at Entertainment Weekly Magazine.  After leaving EW, she returned to television by working as a commercial clearance editor at The ABC Television Network where she managed advertising content for a variety of categories including, children’s advertising, restaurants, shoes and apparel, financial and public service announcements.

An amateur violinist, Jacklyn later worked as an orchestra administrator for a professional chamber music group based in New York where she managed all of the administrative aspects of the non-profit performing group including tour management, event planning, public and donor relations, grant and proposal writing and finance.

After leaving the non-profit world, Jacklyn worked as a research analyst at Medarex, Inc., a publicly-traded biotechnology company based in Princeton, New Jersey.  In this position, she prepared reports on corporate governance, executive compensation, market trends and other financial information pertaining to the biotechnology industry for the Chief Executive Officer, and also conducted research on Supreme Court and other judicial decisions, press clippings and scholarly articles pertaining to civil liberties and First Amendment issues.

Prior to entering law school, she created her own marketing firm, Jack of All Trades Marketing, where her client list grew to include Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, court shows syndicated by Twentieth Television and The Richmond Times Dispatch newspaper.  Over the past five years, her firm has provided marketing, event planning and business development services to clients large and small throughout the Richmond, Virginia and Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Jacklyn entered law school at The University of Richmond, and received her J.D. in May, 2005.  As a law student, she served as the national liaison to the American Bar Association’s Forum on Communications Law, and worked as a research assistant to the Law School Dean Rodney Smolla, a renowned First Amendment expert and scholar.

Following her passion for print, Jacklyn created PAWPrint Publications in March, 2006.  The company publishes print publications including Impressions Newsletter by and for professional, accomplished women readers.
